NutriControl specialises in analyses related to nutritional value and food safety. Through reliable analytical results, expert knowledge and data-driven insights, we help customers make well-informed decisions within their production and quality processes.

History

Due to increasingly strict regulations, conducting analyses locally became more challenging. As a result, Cehave asked Dr. Gerrit van den Bosch to establish a central laboratory together with Rendac and Encebe: the Cooperative Central Laboratory (CCL).

Due to strong growth and the need for a more modern facility, it was decided to construct a new laboratory that met all safety and quality standards.

After obtaining the ISO 17025 certification from the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA), the laboratory was authorized to perform analyses for external parties. Until then, only samples from local farmers and the three founding organizations were analyzed.

Both CCL and DMV-International (now FrieslandCampina) sought to combine their analytical expertise. This collaboration took shape as CCL-NutriControl, enabling greater scale and investments in modern equipment.

In 2012, the Pre-Mervo laboratory, part of Agrifirm, was integrated into CCL-NutriControl. This marked the reason for renaming CCL-NutriControl to simply NutriControl.

Thanks to its expertise in elemental analysis using atomic spectroscopy, NutriControl became a training center for PerkinElmer. This gave NutriControl early access to the latest developments in this field.

The introduction of the NIR-Cloud marked a significant step in optimizing NIR analyses at customer locations. This technology enables real-time application of up-to-date calibration models and allows for remote performance monitoring.

During the peak of the COVID pandemic, a consortium was established under the leadership of Fenelab due to limited testing capacity in the Netherlands. Thanks to its PCR expertise, NutriControl performed a large number of COVID analyses as part of this initiative.

An important tool for the future of quality control. Drawing on years of experience in NIR technology, NutriControl has developed robust calibration models and applied them to a portable NIR device under the name: NIRGO.

The institute plays an important role in quality control within the plant-based sector. Thanks to our modern analytical methods and extensive capacity, we are able to process these quickly and reliably.

We are proud to announce that NutriControl will relocate to a brand-new facility on De Amert in Veghel in mid-Q3. This marks an important milestone in the continued growth of our laboratory, allowing us to serve our customers even better.
